Pick up a book about wineries located in specific states, countries, or regions and map out which one you need to visit. Imagine going to France, the 2nd largest wine producing country, and sipping on red wines straight from the vineyard. If you’re traveling globally, France and Spain should be at the top of your list, with Italy coming in third. Regulators now want to have clear and strict definitions of these terms which means you can’t just slap a term on your bottle of wine –and winemakers are not happy.
